Leo and Doris Enjoy Hot Meals and Warm Visits

VNA Meals on Wheels clients Leo and his wife Doris have been married for 58 years. Leo is wheelchair-bound, and they depend on Meals on Wheels to help them safely age in place.

Leo and Doris have lived in their home in West Dallas for nearly all of their married life, raising children and serving in their church community.

The food and safety checks delivered by friendly volunteers are a lifeline for this sweet couple—a hot, nutritious meal and warm visits from volunteers relieve some of the caregiving burden on Doris and allows her to focus more on Leo’s other needs.

Leo and Doris often ask if they can pray for the volunteers who deliver to them, saying “You guys are a blessing to us. Keep praying for me, and I’ll keep praying for you.”
